The effect:
The magician presents four red playing cards.
After having shown them as apparently ordinary maps, the magician introduces the concept of making nothing appear.
The cards are counted again and suddenly one of them has a giant hole in the middle.
The hole makes almost the entire width of the card, and there is no way that it could have been hidden.
It is also proven that the hole is real and that several surfaces can be seen through.
The card is fairly distributed at the table. The three remaining cards are counted and a second hole appears. This is also real!
A third and a fourth hole appear in the respective cards, which are all placed openly on the table.
The cards are then stacked and the magician comments to what extent, conceptually, making nothing appear is very difficult. What is much simpler is to reveal something that looks like nothing.
