SUB ROSA BY ARIEL FRAILICH - BOOK
ariel frailich
Sub Rosa is a wonderfully misleading and versatile utility technique that you can learn in seconds and master in a few minutes. Can be applied to a wide variety of magic and mentalism in close-up and on stage: transpositions and transformations, predictions and divinations, torn and restored effects and penetration, cards and color separations correspondence, and much more.
More than sixty effects are included, such as:
Stage magic
Good evening: A message appears on a sheet of virgin paper crumpled by a spectator. Entirely scripted.
Losing Face: A selected map becomes virgin and her face appears printed on a handkerchief held by the spectator.
After the fact: very clean manipulation for object effects borrowed towards an impossible location.
Stage mentalism
In Squeeze of DESCESS: without ever touching them, you properly determine the dates of three pieces borrowed held by a volunteer on stage. With several variants, including a design effect of design.
The game of keys: Several spectators try to win a watch borrowed. Complete with a cheeky television game host, an encouragement section and consolation prices. Entirely scripted.
SPODOMANCY: You predict a simply thought card, burn the prediction bulletin and use the ashes to reveal a selected card in a strange way.
Enclosed-up magic
Change of role: a spectator holds a gold ring, you hold a silver piece. Instead that the two objects change space, the metals are transposed. Entirely scripted.
A simple color separation: simple and direct version of Out of this World, using a small number of cards. The spectator can mix at any time. No crossing/color change.
Fast boat to China: a piece borrowed in an envelope turns into a Chinese room. Entirely scripted.
Mentalism in close-ups
Sneak heads-ups: you predict the date of a piece freely selected by elimination. Uses ordinary parts.
Tript and trios: a very clear prediction (or divination by spectators) of three figures, letters, words, images, etc. Night in town, a mystery of murder and many others.
The Sub Rosa index: prediction system with up to 8 outs. Many possibilities of presentation.
Many effects have fully scripted presentations. There are humorous routines, straight parts and even some bizarre effects. Themes include: experience in the ESP laboratory of Dr. Rhine; Learn cards; deceased celebrities; win at the bingo; bad luck in cards, even with the help of magic; a murderer; A dead clown; a potential student of divination; lucky charm; tattoos; voodoo; and more.
Finally, with the Sub Rosa technique, you can often use inexpensive ordinary objects instead of specialized devices to obtain similar effects.
Rigid cover, 6 x 9 in, 180 pages.
Opinion and testimonials:
Quentin Reynolds, well-known professional magician and mentalist from the United Kingdom:
"If you know one of Ariel Frailich's published works, you will know that his main objective is the presentation, his book Card Stories by being a perfect example. He sees beyond movements and passing towers then that he explores the possibilities of routines that can bring these hidden techniques to life and engage an audience. - Even if no one seems to know what it is called and almost no one does it- and explores it in detail before teaching how it can be used in many different situations of execution. At least to ancient Greece. came to symbolize the secret. The technique is simple to grasp and understand. With a few minutes of practice, it is not only undetectable, but there is not the slightest suspicion that something has happened. It is one of the most natural movements ever developed and it will not surprise you. To know that it is often used by crooks and crooks. Once you master basic handling, you will learn the many ways that can be used both in closet-up and on stage environments. You will then explore the sixty models different from presentations for things and routines, where the technique will improve manipulation. There are sections on magic and mentalism, as well as the exploration of additional secret devices which can be used in parallel with the technique. When Ariel asked me to browse this manuscript, I expected something about thirty pages. In fact, there are 180 pages, very well written with many photos where it is necessary. Ariel is a very good teacher and in this exhaustive treaty, you find - at least - a routine that you will use. But even greater value, it will encourage you to think about using this technique in the effects you already play, and that's something we all need more. Most certainly recommended. "
Jim Short, experienced worker:
"I have arthritis and essential tremors, but I always want to do strong magic. I am always looking for things that do not oblige me to distribute 21 cards in 3 batteries several times, and things Who looks like, well, magic. . Starting point to develop your own equipment.
Paul Pacific, professional mentalist:
"With Sub Rosa, Ariel has taken an organic and versatile utility movement and applied it to many original effects. The presentations are very well thought out and can be used exactly as they are written. There is something for each magic student in this book.
Jim byrnes, experienced worker:
"Large useful utility movement. Easy to use. Profitable investment, especially if you are looking to do fewer gymnastics to accomplish a really professional magic. It is a secret because if everyone knew that the big magic could be done so easily , we would be out of business.
