Vortex Magic presents Knot Unxpected by Jim Steinmeyer!
Jim Steinmeyer is considered one of the most creative thinkers in magic, and Knot Unxpected shows why. After the performance of Doug Henning of the "mobile node" in his special television program, he contacted Jim to find a more practical method for his tour show.
Jim created Knot Unxpected. One of the most practical and misleading versions of the cut and restored rope.
In the past, other versions have been sold, but they have never corresponded to the ideal knife that Jim had designed. They were either too small and could not hope for the rope or they were made at low prices and did not want to cut the rope.
Vortex Magic spent more than two years designing and making prototypes made to obtain the perfect knife for this illusion.
It looks like and feels like a real knife and will easily cut the rope. You can now do the mobile node and cut and restore the rope with confidence and ease using any piece of rope.
The effect:
Two members of the public hold a length of rope, a point is selected somewhere near the center of the rope, the Mi is taken up and the rope is openly cut in the center.
The magician then takes the newly cut ends and attaches them into a knot.
He then freely slides the knot along the rope.
Sliding the knot by a end, the magician defeats the knot, leaving the spectators perplexed holding two unequal lengths of rope.
No clever strings, very visual, no magnets to fear.
