Quentin Metenier & Markobi:
Nothing gave reason for this project to be born, and that is why it was born.
Quentin Metenier and Markobi met at the time, in Strasbourg (still their current city in 2026), in a drunken evening at an ex of Marco's (true story), around 2016. What followed were 1,001 moments: impromptu evenings, cafes, entrepreneurial aperitifs, bars, jams, restaurants, trips, performances together, until once being kidnapped during a performance (true story also).
They evolved in parallel, but each on their own, cutting their teeth and evolving together in the world of professional magic, clients, publishing, everything and nothing, with different styles, but points of intellectual and stylistic agreement sometimes, with contrasting and evolving approaches. They are both emblematic figures of magic in Strasbourg, and regularly recommend each other professionally.
Marco has come his way, with already 4 projects underway with Philippe Molina, and Quentin has developed several course lines, including powerful informal magic, effective mentalism and strong in its essence. The two published a book this year, including Quentin's first book, Blue blood and stars. And Quentin wrote the preface to How to Make Teller Laugh by Markobi.
Here, it is a project that finds itself at a paradoxical crossroads: neither the heart of Quentin's work, nor the heart of Marco's work: card routines, knowing that these are not the ones that Marco practices, and that Quentin no longer makes presta cards.
They will meet here to discuss, on the one hand, the routines that Marco has in fact created for the project, with reflection, avenues, methods, the way of thinking about magic at its heart, more than the routines themselves; and, on the other hand, those that Quentin brought back: some of his professional nuggets (when he decides to pull out the cards), and a few little gems from social networks, from real life or born by chance.
In short, for both, it is the discussion which will be the heart of the project, and the questions and answers given.
