The project:
Shadow and Light is not a simple collection of Tricks : it is the fruit of five years of work, started by Alexandre Laroche in March 2020 as a personal notebook before becoming a real in-depth work. Each routine is built around mathematical and automatic principles hidden behind a natural and fluid presentation, so that only the effect remains visible to the viewer.
Chapter I:
Prestige is in the light : 8 pure cardmagic effects, built around the Ireland Shuffle and Controlled Spelling (Open prediction, ACAAN V2, ACAAN V3, Memory, French touch, Palindrome, Cupidon, Switch).
Chapter II:
The secret hides in the shadows: 7 mentalism effects (Sensory Acuity, On the Road to Mentalism, Utopia II, Gold Collection, The Good Choice, Finger and Eye, Kheops).
For each effect, you will find depending on the case: context and sources of inspiration, preparation, intro script, detailed step by step presentation and comments & suggestions (variations, tips, staging). The work closes with a section Reflection, where the author shares his vision of the creative process and the construction of a personal magical universe.
A QR code provides access to a YouTube playlist of video demonstrations for the majority of the effects in the book.
