Witchcraft unveiled 1584 (La), by R. Scot - The first book on conjure!

More than 4 centuries after its edition, the first book written in old English is finally translated into French and commented on by the magic historian Philippe Saint-Laurent! This founding book is generally considered to be the first work on prestidigitation, being the translation of The Discoverie of Witchcraft published in 1584 and signed Reginald Scot.

Here are some examples of towers among the 34 chapters treated in this work:

- Announce a person the value of the card that she thinks without the help of any accomplice.

- How by the power of an incantation, drop from a wardrobe, a pot or any other utensil.

- Change or change the color of a hat or hat.

- To change wheat in bloom with a magical word.

- Burn a thread and reconstruct it from its ashes.

- How to kill a poultry and bring it back to life.

- How to sink a piece of lead in one eye and push it between the skin and the flesh of the forehead to bring it into the other eye from which it is extracted.

This book is full of ideas, interesting anecdotes and gives a lot of information on the magic of the time 1584. As bizarre as it may seem, this mythical book is a contemporary book thanks to the historical and cultural contribution of its texts and its comments.
