The attack of the Titans (進撃 の 巨人, shingeki no kyojin - the assaulting titan, often abbreviated SNK) is a manga shōnen written and drawn by Hajime Isayama. He was pre-published between September 2009 and April 2021 in the magazine Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine and then compiled in thirty-four volumes connected by the publisher Kōdansha. The French version is published in full by Pika Edition in the Seinen collection between June 2013 and October 2021.
The story revolves around the character of Eren Jäger in a world where humanity lives surrounded by immense walls to protect itself from gigantic creatures, the Titans. The story recounts the fight led by humanity to win back its territory, by clarifying the mysteries linked to the appearance of the Titans, the outside world and the events preceding the construction of the walls.
The animation series has been a global commercial success for years, with a total draw amounting to more than 100 million copies in December 2019. The anime adaptation has notably allowed a large popularization international work (derivative products, games, etc.). Critical reception is also positive, due to the atmosphere, the intensity and the development of the story, awarded with numerous prestigious prizes.
