Accompanied by Fanch Guillemin, discover The fascinating story of magic, from ancient times of Egypt, 2500 years before J.-C., to the famous fantastic evenings of Robert-Houdin. Browse the eras, times of antiquity to the mysteries of the Renaissance, passing through the Middle Ages and modern times.

This trip will lead you through a variety of illusion theaters, from the ingenious mechanisms of Alexandria to the Illusionists of the Age of Enlightenment. You will meet emblematic figures such as the Chinese magicians mentioned by Marco Polo, François Villon with his Bible of cheaters, or Germain Jacquet, renowned for his mysterious secrets.

The edition is richly illustrated with unique historical documents and captivating photographs, with the added bonus of 10 superb colors retracing the author's magic route around the world. And like a icing on the cake, this book is also an authentic booktest!

Fanch Guillemin, a former professor who taught in various countries of the world, has woven friendships with local "wizards" wherever he went. He shared his knowledge through shows and conferences on the history of magic in schools and cultural institutions on all continents, including in Antarctica at the Polar Jubany base.

In addition, he regularly contributed to television programs in Central America from 1984 to 1990. As an honorary director of the journal L'Illusionniste, he wrote several works and numerous articles in different languages, including French, Breton , English and Spanish, for specialized newspapers.
