The book "La Magie that is a hit" is a real novelty in the sense that this is not a reissue but a first juice.
However, he deals with an old theme like magic: boxes.
The author, James Hodges, justifies his choice of study with an observation: the boxes would be the magic devices on which we have written the least.
No routine in this abundantly illustrated work (as always when James Hodges gets involved) but the presentation of 23 box manufacturing processes, supporting diagrams.
The book in all sizes of the simplest sizes for the production of scarves to the largest which allow the appearances/disappearances of partner, passing by the most sophisticated such as the box to force of Ali Bongo.
The bias by the author is to offer, for the manufacture of these boxes, to use a most commonplace material which is the cardboard. He deliberately takes the opposite of the "chrome and other sparkling surface" approach.
Objects according to James Hodges "which seem increasingly suspicious since unknown and therefore unused in everyday life".
For each type of box, the author describes the possible effect and the (generally simple) realization procedure of the object. Glue, a rule and a pair of scissors (or a cutter) are enough to take action.
"The magic that is a hit" is a book above all practical on a very specific subject, which naturally makes it a little monocord.
But if you plan to set up a stage or living room number that requires a box, take a look at this work.
There is certainly enough to give you a good idea because most of the secret principles in this area are described. Personally, I adhere to the idea of "raw" cardboard as a material for a magic object ... but nothing prevents you from personalizing your superb achievements
