The spectator can select a card by running the gears of the device, either at random or thinking of a certain card. The selection can then be covered with a small topper and placed on a support so that everyone can see it.
The magician then releases a playing cards, withdraw one and laying it on the table.
The card is exactly the same as that placed by the spectator on the selector!
To make the trick even more impactful, the selected card carries a large X engraved on it, all the other cards do not have! The X is engraved, it cannot be removed from the card!
The magician can also select a card on the "random" selector, then ask a spectator to select exactly the same card in a playing cards Ordinary, using its favorite strength or simply using a special game (like a Svengali or a game to force).
