Wayne revisits his approach to the classic plot of "Bank Nite", reducing the size of the props, for the close-up, interesting and attractive.
You show 6 tokens, each with a different word on the face: MINE, YOURS, SOMETHING, NOTHING, THIS, THAT (words written in English).
By explaining that only one of the chips is the winning chip, you make a bet, placing a bank note on the table. You make a bet on words, with a succession of lines from Wayne, until they freely choose a chip for you (and it's a free choice); they keep the other five.
In the end, you hand them their five tokens and they all lose. You turn over the token they chose for you and you win. You regretfully take back your bank note for another day, another bet. Everything can be examined, you are clean. It works like a dream, and there are no multiple exits or memory work; Wayne's skill at scriptwriting has made this situation a virtually automatic routine that employs comedy along the way.
On this point, Wayne offers a note of clarification: "The routine as I present it uses many of my lines that I have used (and published) over the years, in a variety of effects and routines. Some of them go back a long way, and I imagine I picked them up from watching both Ken Brooke and Joe Riding. Colin Rose (15 years ago!) created a routine with me called Mine that used puns: "Something and nothing" and "Mine and you". I have seen many of these puns being "borrowed" by other performers: sometimes with permission, usually without. A few good friends, Paul Martin and John Archer, have developed their own routines using puns, with my blessing, and even if they have a few lines that I use, I have made sure that for that routine, there are lines that no one else uses.
