Unique's Ascend finds its roots in the 19th century, inspired by many artistic movements such as New Art and Impressionism that have emerged at that time, with a few brush strokes and references to the Steampunk sub-genre based on this period and a modern minimalist and flat approach that connects all styles to a coherent and complex game of fully personalized playing cards.
At the heart of the design is a rich and unique black background that envelops the cards like a velvety sky at night. This specific black tone was chosen exclusively to exuder the 19th century pace. It is the black of the Hauts-de-Form and ball dresses, cobbled streets and gas lits. It captures the essence of an era marked by romanticism and the birth of modern creativity.
The golden patterns that adorn the back of each map are a real tribute to the architecture of the 19th century. Delicate filigranes are intertwined with graceful frills, forming a tapestry of timeless elegance.
Fleet at the storage box, this game has an amazing amount of details filled with references both to the magic community and that of the cards.
